ASHCROFT HOUSE & OUR TRIP TO VICTORIA B.C.

This past May Robert & I got to go on a 6 day trip to Victoria, our *favorite* place in the world to go. (with no kids!) We stayed at the Ashcroft House http://www.ashcrofthousebandb.com. I can tell you right now we will never stay any other place again! The proprietors Paulanne and David were amazing. They truly know how to B&B. The house is delightful! The neighborhood is off the beaten path but right in the heart of James Town. Close to downtown, and close to the ocean views. We met some wonderful people too, like Peter Shelley a delightful Englishman who was on an extended life holiday staying at the house. Peter took us to meet an man who owned a fabulous sail boat tour....Which you will see a lot of photos of down below. It really was a highlight of our trip. So was the MEC! www.mec.ca Move over REI, MEC is so fun! Of course we had lots of great food all over town, but nothing could beat Paulanne's gourmet breakfast feast. Just one breakfast kept us full till dinner time. Robert and I talk about this trip all the time. We have made many to Victoria, but this hands down was our favorite trip. Peaceful, lots of rest, lots of sleep, long walks...... Our whole goal was to rest! We have been there so many times we didn't need to be tourists. If we could move and live in Victoria we would in a heart beat! I am just now getting around to posting this for a few reasons. Life has been on a whirl wind since we got back! I can't remember going this fast. AND I lost my film (gasp) and forgot to bring the digital camera on the trip....Oh well....we got pics of the ship, and of course Craigdarroch Castle http://www.craigdarrochcastle.com/ AMAZING you must go there! The stained glass photos you will see are from there, I took a pic of everyone one in the castle.
