Happy St Patty's Day!

For Dinner tonight we had green panackes and green eggs, & wore our Old Navy 2006 St. Patrick's Day t-shirts

How did the shamrock come to symbolize St Patrick? When preaching he used the clover's three leaves as a metaphor for the holy trinity.

St. Patrick's Day marks the Roman Catholic feast day for Ireland's patron saint, who died in the 5th century. St. Patrick (Patricius in Latin) was not born in Ireland, but in Britain.

• Irish brigands kidnapped St. Patrick at 16 and brought him to Ireland. He was sold as a slave in the county of Antrim and served in bondage for six years until he escaped to Gaul, in present-day France. He later returned to his parents' home in Britain, where he had a vision that he would preach to the Irish. After 14 years of study, Patrick returned to Ireland, where he built churches and spread the Christian faith for some 30 years.

• Colonial New York City hosted the first official St. Patrick's Day parade in 1762, when Irish immigrants in the British colonial army marched down city streets. In subsequent years Irish fraternal organizations also held processions to St. Patrick's Cathedral. The various groups merged sometime around 1850 to form a single, grand parade. • Today New York's St. Patrick's Day parade is the longest running civilian parade in the world. This year nearly three million spectators are expected to watch the spectacle and some 150,000 participants plan to march.

Chicago is famous for dyeing the Chicago River green on St. Patrick's Day. The tradition began in 1962, when a pipe fitters union—with the permission of the mayor—poured a hundred pounds (45 kilograms) of green vegetable dye into the river. (On the job, the workers often use colored dyes to track illegal sewage dumping.) Today only 40 pounds (18 kilograms) of dye are used, enough to turn the river green for several hours. According to the Friends of the Chicago River, a local environmental group, more people are likely to view the Chicago River on St. Patrick's Day than on any other day.

Even Google got into the spirit of the day!

LBS & BLS

Little Big Sister - and - Big Little Sister

That has been my phrase for Kate and Seanesey, knowing all along that soon in the future it was not going to take long before Seanesey would out grow Kate.

We are *almost* there.

I took the girls for a well child visit and had them weighed and measured. Kate is only 1 pound 2 ounces, and 3/4 of an inch bigger then Seaney. (23 and 22 pounds respectively)

The day is coming, that will never be reversible, Kate will soon become the Little Big Sister, and Seanesey the Big Little Sister.

Kate's birth mom is only 4 foot 8, and that dna puts her -10 % below on the growth chart. Seanesey's birth mom is 5 foot 11, and birth dad well over 6 feet. and she is at 100% on the growth chart.

So Kate is just tiny, and Seanesey is just huge, I just think it's cute!

By the way, they are only 18 months apart in age.....I can just foresee the future....Kate getting Seanesey's hand me downs..... of course, that will only last for so long....There will be a point where Kate stops growing, and Seaney keeps going!

Haha, just thought I would share that little chuckle with you all.

Pop Goes The Kate

"All around the mulberry bush the monkey chased the weasel. The monkey thought 'twas all in fun. Pop! Goes the weasel (Kate)."

Little Miss Kate - I was going through some old pictures on my computer, and I just LOVE these ones. About 2 years ago, Kate was playing with a Costco size Raisin Bran box and we taught her how to pop out of it, while singing that song. Of course, we would change the last word to Kate! So Cute, So Tiny!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!!! Today is my dad's 58th birthday. We had a fun celebration at home. We made a special dinner and of course had birthday cake with 59 candles. (In our family we add an extra candle, kind of like a pinch to grow an inch :) It's a fun old family joke that started out as a ruse to see if anyone noticed that I put an extra candle in. Now it is just tradition that we do it. Plus it proves you have enough hot air to blow them all out.)
