Oh So Pretty!

This song is running through my head. "I'm so pretty, oh so pretty, I'm so pretty, pretty as pretty can be." Kate loves her "pretties." She loves to get all dressed up. She is a frilly-froofy find of girl.....but there is a clear tom boy side to her. She loves the dirt as much as the boys do! Pretties and all.

66 Feet

66 Feet. That's how far it is from my back door, to the back door across the path, which just happens to by Mimi & Papa's house. This is Kate and Ben walking over for breakfast on a frosty Saturday morning.

Pure Joy

PURE JOY....need I say more?!

This last Sunday at church, we talked about pure joy. I didn't raise my hand to give my version of pure joy, but here it is.....the smile of my kids. This is what I thought of when Sean asked us what our pure joy was.

First time on a swing set

The sun has been so nice outside so Seanesey had her first experience being outside, playing on the ground and of course, swinging! Thank goodness for 800 speed film, or these shots would not have turned out!

Let Her Eat Cake

This is my favorite out of all Seanesey's 1st birthday pictures! This really captures that curiosity of a first time birthday candle.

She really LOVED the cake!

We had 3 little parties, one of which was lunch with some friends and a local pizza place and this is the birthday cake that our friend got for her. Notice the little tiny's bees on the top right of the cake made of frosting, and the wings are almond slices. SO darling!

Mimi got Seanesey this little cute party hat! Now, she LOVES hats, but didn't this one, the little fuzzies continued to tickle her head.

We had tea party with some friends and shared a birthday party with Nicole. This is the cake that Kim and I made for the girls.

There are many paths in life, which one will you take?

There are many paths in your lifetime that you encounter.
The Straight path. Paths that take you to the left, or to the right.
Wide gates that are easy to get into, Narrow gates, that are not so easy.

I took this picture of the boys walking away from me.
Not at all planning this. But when I got the film developed and saw this
photo, it really made me think...... In a way it seems to put some
life choices into perspective.

They are on the straight path towards the narrow gate.
It is my job to ensure they learn of Jesus.
I pray for my children. Hoping they will choose the straight
and narrow path that the Lord sets before them.

In the end, it will be up to them to choose. I pray they choose
the right path, and the right gate.

Matthew 7: 13-14
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

The Day I turned ONE. February 1, 2006

The Day I turned ONE. Today I woke up in my pink jammies. My mommy got me dressed in their special dress for today is my birthday. I am one year old today. I am starting to toddle about, taking a few steps here and there. I am a big girl now! I can say Mamma, Dadda, Daddy, All done, More, Uh-oh, Kaiden, Mimi, Papa, Ni-Night. I love to wrestle. I love to climb to the highest point I can! (usually the top of the couch) My favorite place to be in outside! Today I am One. I am a big girl now, or at least *I* think so.

Valentine Dinner

Last night we had our Valentines Dinner, since Robert has to work on Valentines Day. IT was greeeeeeeeeeat! Since my mom and dad live next door, I roped my dad into helping me cook. (For those of you who know my dad, that was pretty easy!) We make prime rib and lobster, homemade chicken noodle soup, vegies, and hot sourdough bread. For dessert we had homemade raspberry scones with fresh whipping cream, and of course a couple of bottles of Martenelli's
YUM!!! Kaiden helped me to decorate the table, added a vase of pink and white tulips, and we broke out my lovely dishes Robert gave me for Valentines Day 12 years ago.

Sometimes staying home, is much better then going out.

New Van! Win a Starbucks Gift Card!

I finally was able to borrow my dads digital camera (gee I REALLY need to get one!!) to take a picture of our new van! I just love it. We got it about 6 weeks ago. It is a 15 passenger van. We took the back seat out so we have tons of trunk space. The kids have room to move about, and we have space to go out as an entire family (my mom and dad who live next door). We got it from some friends of ours who wanted to go back down to a 12 passenger.
SO now on to the contest I have for you! We need to come up with a fun personalized license plate. My mom's vote is for: ARK 2X2
What do you think?
The best plate idea gets a $5 Starbucks Card!
Enter as many ideas as you like!
*remember, plates are only 7 spaces long*

What is MORE important than SUPER BOWL XL???

http://www.covchurch.org/cov/news/item4717.html

What is MORE important than the SUPER BOWL?!?! Well, just ask Kathy Holmgren, the head coaches' wife of the Seattle Seahawks... and she will tell you... the medical missions trip she had planned to the Congo in Africa! You can read the whole article at that web page for their church. That really goes to show you, her level of integrity I think. I do not think one person would have begrudged her for backing out of the trip after learning her husband was taking another team to the super bowl - but clearly that was not an option for her. I am proud of her and her daughter Calla for choosing to still go on their trip! GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

Tax-time-a-commin

I'm done! WAHOOOO! I finished them yesterday. My goal was to have them done by the end of January, that is of course only if all the places send my proper tax documents in time. They were cutting it close, I got my last tax statement on the 29th. Do you use Turbo Tax? It is sooo easy, and I have started getting more back using them, then I did when I had an accountant! There are so many deductions and other things that you just would not think of, but Turbo Tax does! I always feel like my winter is over when my taxes are done!
